Oppose HB4 – Protect Fair Representation in Texas
54 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!
I am writing as a concerned Texan to strongly oppose House Bill 4 (HB4) and the proposed congressional redistricting maps.
These maps would weaken or eliminate Black-led districts (9, 18, 30, and 33), dilute the voting power of communities of color, and divide historic neighborhoods that have been the backbone of civic and economic progress in Texas. By stripping these districts of vital economic hubs and splitting cohesive communities, HB4 represents a rollback of civil rights and a threat to fair representation.
Texans of color make up nearly 60% of the state’s population, yet HB4 would concentrate power in the hands of a shrinking minority. This is not just a political issue—it is a matter of equity, democracy, and compliance with the Voting Rights Act.
I urge you to:
1. Vote NO on HB4 and any map that silences or divides communities of color.
2. Commit to a transparent and inclusive redistricting process that keeps neighborhoods and economic centers intact.
3. Support fair maps that reflect the true diversity of Texas and protect the right of all Texans to choose their representatives.
Our democracy works only when every Texan has an equal voice. I am calling on you to protect that voice, reject HB4, and stand up for fair representation.
