Abolish the electoral college

The Electoral College system is an archaic vestige that undermines true democracy by disproportionately amplifying the influence of smaller states while disenfranchising voters in larger ones. It has enabled scenarios where candidates win the presidency without securing a majority of the popular vote, which flagrantly disregards the will of the people. This process encourages a narrow focus on so-called "swing" states rather than addressing the broader national issues that impact all Americans. Dissolving the Electoral College would align the electoral process with core democratic values by ensuring every citizen's vote carries equal weight. It is a reform whose time is long overdue to restore integrity to presidential elections.
