An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Defend Birthright Citizenship and Constitutional Principles

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Birthright citizenship impacts American citizens born abroad to U.S. citizen parents, a principle established by the 14th Amendment and Supreme Court precedent. Attempting to revoke or reinterpret this right through executive action raises serious constitutional concerns and could strip citizenship status from thousands of Americans like myself born abroad while one or both parents served in the U.S. military or worked overseas. Such a drastic change undermines core constitutional principles and equal rights protections, creating discriminatory tiers of citizenship based solely on parentage rather than upholding human dignity for all. I urge you to firmly reject any efforts to end or undermine birthright citizenship guarantees through unilateral executive action and instead pursue comprehensive immigration reforms through the proper legislative process that respect the Constitution and human rights.
