The President, and Elon Musk and his minions are usurping Congressional authority. For instance, USAID was created and funded by Congress. They have no authority to terminate or defund it without Congressional action. Dismantling USAID will give our enemies — in particular, the People’s Republic of China -- an opening to make inroads with other countries where we have been assisting them.
Additionally, Elon Musk has no statutory authority to access Treasury or OPM databases, or put any agency “in the woodchipper.” That the President is allowing this is an abrogation of his duties.
You swore an Oath to uphold the Constitution (as have I). That means carrying out the duties of your office and supporting the separation of powers. You should NOT be tolerating illegal actions.
Please show resolve and act against these illegal actions. Take back Congressional authority. And most especially — have Elon Musk removed from anything other than an advisory role (if even that).
