An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Hold ICE and Police Accountable in Massachusetts

7 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I am writing as a constituent to express my outrage over the recent ICE operation in Worcester, Massachusetts, during which local police officers restrained a young girl—face-down on the pavement—while arresting her mother. The video footage is horrifying and unacceptable. A child was treated as a threat because of our nation’s broken immigration system and the unchecked collaboration between ICE and local law enforcement. This is a federal failure. ICE’s continued pattern of violent and traumatizing actions, especially in residential neighborhoods and in front of children, demands immediate congressional oversight. This is not law enforcement—it’s state-sanctioned child endangerment. I urge you to: • Launch a formal investigation into this incident, including the role of ICE and local police. • Hold a public hearing on ICE’s use of force and coordination with local law enforcement. • Sponsor or support legislation to restrict ICE’s ability to operate near schools, homes, and public areas—particularly when children are present. • Demand accountability from DHS leadership for systemic misconduct under ICE’s direction. We cannot continue to look away as children are terrorized in our name. I expect your immediate attention and action on this matter.
