Protect Access to Diverse Media for Minors: Amend SB 1125

The ongoing progress of Arizona Senate Bill 1125, which aims to regulate internet content deemed harmful to minors, raises concerns. The bill, currently pending in the House Rules Committee, has passed several roll calls in both legislative chambers. The potential for broad and vague definitions of "obscene" or "harmful" content could inadvertently target and restrict access to queer and trans media/material. This could lead to a de facto ban or necessitate age verification, thereby limiting the availability of these resources. It is requested that the bill's language be revised to ensure it does not inadvertently marginalize or censor specific communities. The importance of accessible, diverse content should be considered in the bill's development.
