Please modify the budget to continue the ACA subsidies and Medicaid.
There is an editorial in the Oct. 9 Daily Tar Heel which states:
“North Carolina is set to lose nearly $40 billion dollars in Medicaid funding over the next decade. Spread the figure across the 3 million North Carolinians currently relying on the service for essential healthcare, and that’s $13,280 in healthcare benefits lost per person.
“Statistics assembled by Down Home North Carolina, a rural organizing group, show six hospitals and 13 nursing homes at risk of closure if these cuts go unmended. Many of these are in poor or rural communities, meaning that effects are greater for those who need it most.“
If you care about children and mothers in NC, please work to KEEP Medicaid funding and ACA subsidies.
Thank you.
