Veto Sneaky Dan’s Ludicrously Unpopular THC Ban

We’re calling on you because Texas deserves leaders who reflect its future, not hold it back. Sneaky Dan Patrick’s push to ban THC defies both reason and the will of the voters. Twenty-four states have legalized recreational marijuana, and thirty-nine allow medical use. Texans know our state shouldn’t be left behind. A 2024 Pew poll confirmed strong support across party lines, including here at home. Patrick’s agenda doesn’t stop there. He supports Governor Abbott’s voucher scam, which drains resources from Texas’s 5.5 million public school kids. Despite more than two decades of Republican control and a $24 billion state budget surplus, Texas still ranks near the bottom in education. Abbott’s plan makes things worse, not better. And who does Sneaky Dan align with? None other than the most crooked politician in Texas—Ken Paxton. A man who faced felony securities fraud charges, was impeached for corruption, and filed laughable lawsuits that embarrassed our state. That’s the company Dan keeps. Meanwhile, Texans are living with policies that go after LGBTQ and especially transgender people, invading private lives and violating fundamental rights. I’m ashamed of what our state has become under this leadership. Legalizing THC isn’t radical—it’s smart, popular, and long overdue. If Abbott’s school voucher scam didn’t end this political era, maybe this THC ban will. We know doing the right thing doesn't seem to come naturally to any of you, but let's do the right thing and veto the THC ban.
