Reconsider unilateral acquisition of Greenland without consent

This proposed legislation, titled the "Red, White, and Blueland Act of 2025," seeks to authorize the President to enter into negotiations with Denmark to purchase or otherwise acquire Greenland. Furthermore, it aims to rename Greenland as "Red, White, and Blueland" across all federal documents and maps within 180 days of enactment. While the intent behind this bill may be to symbolically incorporate Greenland into the United States, the unilateral acquisition of territory without the consent of its people and government raises concerning questions about self-determination and respect for sovereignty. I urge you to carefully consider the potential implications of such an action and its alignment with democratic principles and international law. There may be more constructive avenues to strengthen ties with Greenland and its people through diplomacy, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
