Condemn Trump's Dangerous Rhetoric and Protect Democracy

The recent bomb threat against Senator Elissa Slotkin's home is a chilling reminder of the dangerous consequences of inflammatory rhetoric. This incident, occurring just one day after former President Trump's incendiary comments on Truth Social, demands your immediate and unequivocal condemnation.
On his platform, Trump suggested that Senator Slotkin and other Democrats should face death for what he termed "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR." This was in response to their principled stance urging service members and intelligence officials to disobey illegal orders. Such a statement from a former president is not only irresponsible but poses a direct threat to our democratic institutions and the safety of elected officials.
The facts are clear: Senator Slotkin and her colleagues were fulfilling their duty to uphold the Constitution by reminding officials of their obligation to refuse unlawful orders. This is a fundamental principle of our democracy, not sedition. Trump's subsequent attempt to backpedal on Brian Kilmeade's radio show, claiming he wasn't threatening death but merely suggesting they were in "serious trouble," does little to mitigate the impact of his original statement.
As your constituent, I am asking for a direct, unambiguous response: Will you publicly condemn Trump's dangerous rhetoric? I request a simple "yes" or "no" answer, without equivocation or standard political platitudes. Our democracy's integrity and the safety of our elected officials are at stake.
The bomb threat against Senator Slotkin, which required a response from Michigan State Police, illustrates the real-world consequences of such inflammatory language. It's crucial to recognize that words from political leaders can incite violence and threaten the very fabric of our democratic process.
Your stance on this issue is of utmost importance to me and many other constituents. We need leaders who will stand firm against threats to our democracy, regardless of party affiliation. I urge you to take a clear position condemning these remarks and reaffirming your commitment to protecting our democratic institutions and the safety of all elected officials.
The time for action is now. Your response will demonstrate whether you prioritize the principles of our democracy over partisan politics. I eagerly await your unequivocal answer.
