Will no one be held accountable?! Do something! Kill the filibuster! There must be an investigation of the Jan 6th, 2021 Insurrection and the days leading up to it. This investigation must include leadership all the way up to the former president. We must know what was going on leading up to that day.
It was obvious to the general public that something was going to happen, that it was not an ordinary protest. Interviews with police afterwards said that they saw individuals walking around armed prior to the rally, even police knew this was not an ordinary protest.
Upper officials downplayed this event and they need to be held responsible. Their sympathies to the situation set the stage. Why was security so light? Why did it take so long for backup to arrive? Politicians need to be held accountable. Military officials need to be held accountable.
