I expect it’s quite a show at today’s Senate Judiciary Committee meeting. Lots of sound bites. Lots of outrage. Lots of empty blah blah.
We all realize by now that incompetence is not a disqualifier for government work. Especially in this current administration. In fact it seems a plus.
So excuse me when I say HO HUM.
But one thing it’s getting harder and harder to slither away from is Epstein Epstein Epstein.
Can’t wait to read how Director Patel manages to blame all that sleaze on left wing radicals. Or Biden.
Was he asked about suppressing evidence of ties between the current president and Epstein?
Was he asked who he might be protecting by refusing to release the Epstein files?”
Because in 2023 Patel said the FBI was suppressing the names on the Epstein client list because of who was on the list.
If he had proof of that then, surely he has proof of it now as FBI Director. He should by now know exactly who is implicated in the files.
And he should tell us.
I hope he will be asked some uncomfortable questions. And I hope he has to answer them. He and Republican leaders have promised the MAGA base for years that if they were to win power, they would deliver answers about Epstein.
Like so many things said by this administration…was he lying then? Or is he lying now?
The lying then is simple, if vile, politics. The lying now will not be so easy to explain.
But they always try. Maybe someday the GOP Congress will finally call BS.
