Why the Obsession Transgender Troops When Your Court Filings Says Otherwise?

Oh, how embarrassing! Imagine going to court armed with your best arguments, only to have a judge dismantle them like a cheap campaign sign in a hurricane. That’s exactly what happened when Judge Ana C. Reyes took the Trump administration’s legal team to task over its transgender military ban. Turns out, not only could they not defend their own policy, but the studies they cherry-picked actually showed the opposite of what they claimed—transgender service members aren’t a threat to military readiness. In fact, had the DOJ’s lawyers bothered to read the studies they cited (a truly bold assumption, I know), they’d have found that transgender troops perform just as well as anyone else.
So, if this isn’t about science, what is it about? Could it be, once again, that we need to follow the money? Is this yet another desperate attempt to whip up fake outrage, distract from actual issues, and funnel donations into the political outrage machine? Project 2025 makes it abundantly clear that this has nothing to do with military readiness and everything to do with enforcing ideological purity, ensuring loyalty to Donald Trump, and keeping the culture war alive. Heaven forbid we focus on real national security threats when there are still marginalized groups left to demonize.
At a time when recruitment numbers are plummeting and global instability is at an all-time high, why is Congress more concerned with banning qualified service members than addressing actual military readiness? Is it really that crucial to spend taxpayer money defending a policy so flimsy that even the administration’s own hand-picked data contradicts it? Or is this just another round of “owning the libs” at the expense of actual governance?
I urge you to break free from the manufactured outrage machine and do your job—addressing real issues instead of chasing the latest round of performative cruelty. Otherwise, history will remember you not as a leader, but as yet another footnote in the endless cycle of political theater.
