Vote No: Iran War Funding
I am writing to urge you to exercise Congress’s constitutional authority over war powers and appropriations by voting against further funding for the war in Iran.
The Pentagon has requested more than $200 billion in additional war funding. The United States has already spent approximately $12 billion since hostilities began on February 28 — at a rate of roughly $1 billion per day. This is a war of choice, initiated without a formal declaration of war by Congress. Intelligence assessments disputed the imminence of the threat used to justify it, and the conflict has since escalated instability throughout the region rather than reducing it. Americans deserve a full accounting of the objectives, the exit strategy, and the true cost before a single additional dollar is appropriated.
The American people are facing higher prices and economic uncertainty at home while this administration pursues this war of choice abroad. I urge you to:
1. Vote no on any supplemental appropriations for the war in Iran;
2. Assert Congress’s constitutional role in declaring war and controlling the public purse.
This is not a partisan ask. It is a constitutional one.
