Last night, House Republicans rallied to pass a budget that among other things slashes Medicaid, which many regular families and some of the most at-need in our communities rely on. And this to make up for tax cuts for the wealthy. At a time when food prices are skyrocketing and people have already been struggling to live paycheck to paycheck, Republicans are cutting services to their constituents to reward their wealthy donors. I and many of your constituents are furious. This is on the heels of a recess marked by contentious town halls across the nation, where we have made clear we do not approve of the actions of this administration, and the Trump agenda does not have a mandate from the people. All the wealthy donors in the country will not buy you an election when your constituents have been rallied against you for kicking them when they're down.
