RFK Jr. Removed COVID Protections Without Experts: He Must Go

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s reckless decision to remove COVID-19 vaccines for healthy children and pregnant women from the CDC’s recommended schedule is unscientific, dangerous, and undermines decades of public health progress. He made this move without input from the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, bypassing the very experts tasked with protecting public health (New York Times, May 27, 2025). Medical authorities, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, continue to recommend COVID-19 vaccination for these groups. Studies show vaccination during pregnancy protects both mother and newborn and significantly reduces risk of severe illness in children (Time, May 27, 2025; Stat News, May 27, 2025). This decision not only spreads confusion—it puts lives at risk. It may cause insurance companies to drop coverage for these vaccines and will embolden anti-vaccine misinformation that already endangers communities (Reuters, May 27, 2025). Kennedy’s disregard for science and expert guidance disqualifies him from leading our nation’s health policy. I urge you to act immediately to restore evidence-based vaccine recommendations and remove RFK Jr. from his post. Our children and families deserve better.
