An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress; State Governors & Legislatures

Reconsider inhumane "Alligator Alcatraz" immigration detention center

41 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

The new "Alligator Alcatraz" immigration detention center in the remote Florida Everglades raises serious ethical and humanitarian concerns. Detaining people in such an isolated area surrounded by dangerous wildlife and unforgiving terrain is inhumane and risks violating basic human rights standards. A more humane and dignified approach to immigration processing is desperately needed that upholds principles of compassion and lawful treatment. We urge you to reconsider this facility and instead prioritize more ethical solutions that respect the inherent dignity of all people, regardless of immigration status.
