Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
A quick last note before we head into 2024, a year that’s sure to prove hectic to put it mildly.
I hope to read more stories like I just did about how the Biden administration is working to allow migrants who cross the border legally the chance for expedited work permits. This is a no-brainer start to making immigration at our southern border manageable.
People who come here want to work. They always have. We need them. They need, and are grateful to have, it. It’s a win-win.
You’re from Texas. You know better than most how dependent we are on labor from our southern neighbors. To suggest otherwise is dishonest.
Now, if the GOP would work towards further reasonable cooperation on the matter, wouldn’t that be a great way to start the new year?
In case you haven’t noticed, we the people are sick of politics. And the politicians who insist on theatrics rather than solutions.
Let’s try and make 2024 productive shall we?
