An open letter to the U.S. Congress

HOW CAN YOU KEEP SILENT?

Let’s start with a funny not funny financial observation while world markets continue to try and do business in the Twilight Zone…”Thursday Gustaf Kilander of The Independent reported that “fund managers quietly fear Trump doesn’t have a tariff plan and that he ‘might be insane.’” We also are watching Russia continuing to play American negotiators. While the bombing and destruction continues. And appears to be about to escalate once again. The whole delusion that Russia wants to play nice was a story for the gullible. GOP enthusiasm for Russian propaganda is perhaps misplaced? Additionally, now we’re entering a phase of lawlessness. The Trump administration seems to have taken a pointer from the Russians. Trump has said he will of course abide by the law and accept decisions made by the courts, and SCOTUS. But like Russia, actions speak louder than words. And it seems apparent that agreement is just a disingenuous tactic to continue to obfuscate. But it turns out Americans do not like that someone living in our country was snatched by ‘administrative error’ and sent to a brutal El Salvadoran prison with no due process under our laws. With our tax $$$. Poll after poll shows broad support for deporting criminals. Polls do not show support for deporting people like Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Stephen Miller tried to rewrite history, claiming on Fox News that “a Democrat, saboteur” incorrectly made the claim that he was deported via administrative error. Stephen Miller is lying. Here are the Trump officials who admitted that the deportation was an error… Solicitor General Dean John Sauer, in a filing at SCOTUS ICE official Robert L. Cerna, in a sworn declaration DOJ lawyer Erez Reuveni, in court filings and at a hearing According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, 82% of Americans, including more than two-thirds of Republicans, believe that presidents should obey federal court rulings. The courts, regardless of endless hysterics by people who know better, are not trying to dictate foreign policy. They are doing their jobs and upholding our laws. Will you do the same? Here’s Senator Grassley’s answer to just such a question at his recent town hall in IA… “We would like to know what you, as the people, the Congress, who are supposed to rein in this dictator, what are you going to do about these people who have been sentenced to life imprisonment in a foreign country with no due process?” As the senator hesitated, others shouted at him, “Trump’s not obeying the Supreme Court. He just ignores them!” “You’re allowing it to happen!” “Are you proud of voting for Trump, what he’s doing in office? Are you proud of everything he’s doing right here?” one asked. “There’s no president I agree with 100%,” Grassley replied. “I didn’t say that—I said are you proud he’s in,” the constituent replied. Grassley moved to another part of the room to answer a different question. Oh, I think he answered loud and clear.
