Swickard OUT of Oregon Politics

It is public record that Jeff Swickard, owner of Swickard Auto, signed a letter to the Oregon Health Association that was full of misinformation about animal research to convince the group to lean on Oregon Health and Science University to close the Oregon National Primate Research Center. It is public record that Jeff Swickard gave 25,000 USD to David Gomburg’s campaign - in the same year, Gomburg wrote anti animal testing Oregon HB 3978. It is public record that Jeff Swickard gave 50,000 USD to Tina Kotek’s campaign - and 2 weeks later Tina Kotek appointed Betsy Johnson to the OHSU Board of Directors. It is public record that Jeff Swickard gave 100,000 USD to Betsy Johnson’s campaign for governor - and now she gets to vote on closing the ONPRC. It’s clear to me that Jeff Swickard has an agenda in Salem and is buying what he wants. Swickard wants state officials to capitulate to his desires and to get rid of the ONPRC - an institution that brings in more than 100,000,000 USD over the course of 3 fiscal years of various federal, state, and private grants to the Oregon economy. To be clear, the ONPRC does not receive money from any Oregon state general funds. We, Oregonians, get the benefits of the ONPRC without having to pay higher taxes about it! After buying the Big Pink with 45 million cash, Jeff Swickard went on the record with Willamette Weekly in July 2025 and said that he is "currently a resident of Nevada". I, a registered Oregonian voter, did not vote for Swickard. No one in Oregon did. We need this to be investigated. We need Jeff Swickard’s money, opinions, and cronies out of Oregon politics NOW.
