An open letter to the U.S. Congress

RULES. WHO NEEDS ‘EM

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. My question to my elected officials today… Has Elon Musk filed a publicly available financial disclosure so the American people can see for themselves any potential conflicts of interest he may have? He is being allowed to access information that no doubt would allow him an advance over competitors. Shouldn’t he have to abide by the same system of disclosure (enacted by CONGRESS) that all high-level officials are required to do? It is reported that Musk’s companies have $3 billion in contracts with 17 federal agencies. Or are we just relying on his own personal code of ethics to police himself? He has been granted carte blanche to rifle through all of the executive branch’s unclassified “records, software systems, and IT systems”—including extremely sensitive procurement data and enforcement files. I bet his competitors love that scenario. Maybe y’all need to poll X readers to see if this is something you should care about? I hear that’s how government is done these days. With a thumbs up or thumbs down emoji.
