An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Oppose the nomination of Ed Martin as head of the U.S. Attorney’s office in D.C.

Ed Martin Jr.'s nomination as the top federal prosecutor for Washington, D.C. raises significant concerns. His lack of relevant legal experience, coupled with his expressed support for the January 6th rioters who attacked the Capitol, strongly suggests he is unfit for this critical role. The fact that over 100 career prosecutors from the very office he would lead have signed a letter objecting to his nomination underscores the legitimate worries about his ability to serve impartially and uphold the rule of law. I urge you to carefully consider these concerns and the potential damage Martin could inflict on the independence and integrity of the U.S. Attorney's Office. In the interests of justice and public trust, a "no" vote on his nomination is warranted.
