If you don’t think the Trump administration is so far inside a bubble that they don’t have a clue what America wants, you have only to look at the gobsmacking deal to bail out the economy of a country not our own, while kicking an important segment of our own economy in the teeth.
The Trump administration is about to bail out Argentina to the tune of $20B, with an additional $20B in the works.
This is being done solely to save Trump ally Javier Milei’s government. The president has admitted it will in no way benefit America. He is using our pocketbook to make a friend.
This is the same Argentina that has turned around and sold soybeans to China because the Trump tariffs ended Chinese imports of US soybeans. This decimated our farmers.
Now Trump is talking about importing beef from Argentina. So now our farmers AND ranchers are outraged at his focus on Argentina rather than on Americans.
Trump responded by insulting them: “The Cattle Ranchers, who I love, don’t understand that the only reason they are doing so well, for the first time in decades, is because I put Tariffs on cattle coming into the United States, including a 50% Tariff on Brazil. If it weren’t for me, they would be doing just as they’ve done for the past 20 years—Terrible! It would be nice if they would understand that…”
I grew up on Texas cattle ranches. My father was a cowman. The president is an ignorant pompous nitwit.
