This is unconscionable. But here’s the hypocrisy: Trump is ending birthright citizenship and deporting immigrants while his own mother was an immigrant and his wife Melania obtained citizenship through chain migration. By Trump’s own rules and his own cruelty, he and Melania should be deported immediately to their countries of origin—or better yet, to Ghana, where they can experience the same degradation and lawlessness he’s inflicting on vulnerable people. If Trump believes in mass deportation to countries unwilling to receive deportees, held in inhumane conditions, then he should lead by example. I demand you hold him accountable for these violations of human rights and international law.
