Demand Impartial Investigation of Sex Trafficking Allegations

I am deeply concerned about recent reports of White House interference in a federal investigation involving Andrew Tate and his brother, who are accused of serious crimes including sex trafficking and rape. This intervention, where a White House official asked senior Department of Homeland Security officials to return seized electronic devices, is deeply troubling and undermines the integrity of our justice system. The seizure of these devices by Customs and Border Protection officials in February was part of an ongoing investigation into grave allegations spanning multiple countries. By intervening, the White House has potentially compromised crucial evidence and hampered the pursuit of justice for victims of sex trafficking. This incident is not isolated but appears to be part of a broader pattern of the current administration interfering in law enforcement matters to benefit allies. Such actions erode public trust in our institutions and send a dangerous message that those with political connections can evade proper scrutiny. Experts have stated that White House involvement in border seizures or demanding the return of potential evidence is highly unusual and inappropriate. This politicization of law enforcement investigations is unacceptable and threatens the fundamental principle of equal justice under the law. I urge you to take immediate action to ensure the independence and integrity of this investigation. We need a thorough, nonpartisan inquiry into this interference and strong safeguards to prevent future political meddling in law enforcement matters. The victims of sex trafficking deserve nothing less than our full commitment to justice, unimpeded by political considerations. Please support legislation that strengthens the autonomy of law enforcement agencies and establishes clear boundaries preventing political interference in active investigations. Our democracy depends on a justice system free from political influence, especially when dealing with such serious allegations as sex trafficking and rape.
