Support Local Control, Limit State Overreach

I am writing today to voice my concern about the alarming trend in legislative proposals that seek to wrest control from local voters. These bills include SB 8, which would gut public schools and leave scraps to serve the most vulnerable kids, and SB 1750 and SB 1933, which would override the will of local voters and install state-level puppets. My whole life, the hallmark of conservative government has been that it is limited. These bills are bad for democracy and are a disservice to the tradition you purport to uphold. I urge you to vote against these and any attempts to undermine situating political power at the most local level possible.
