An open letter to the U.S. Congress

URGENT: Enforce the Epstein Files Transparency Act (Missed Deadline)

6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I am writing to express my profound frustration regarding the Department of Justice’s failure to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The statutory deadline for the full release of these documents was December 19, 2025. As of mid-January 2026, the DOJ has released less than 1% of the estimated 2 million responsive documents, citing resource constraints as an excuse for non-compliance. This delay is unacceptable. The public deserves the truth, and victims deserve justice. I am asking you to use your specific Congressional oversight powers to force immediate compliance. Specifically, I am requesting that you take the following three actions: 1. Demand Immediate Oversight Hearings Call for the House Judiciary Committee to subpoena Department of Justice officials immediately. They must testify under oath publicly to explain why they have missed the legal deadline and provide a concrete, accelerated timeline for the remaining 99% of the documents. 2. Leverage Appropriations (The Power of the Purse) The DOJ has claimed the review process is "resource-intensive." I urge you to attach strict conditions to future DOJ appropriations. Funding for the relevant divisions should be contingent upon the immediate appointment of an independent "Special Master" or neutral expert to expedite the review and redaction process, ensuring it is not stalled by internal bureaucracy. 3. Support the Appointment of a Neutral Expert The current pace of DOJ review is indistinguishable from a cover-up. I urge you to publicly support the legal motions (such as those recently filed by Reps. Khanna and Massie) seeking a court-appointed expert to take the redaction process out of the DOJ’s hands. We need an objective third party to ensure that "victim privacy" is not being used as a shield to protect the identities of perpetrators or enablers. We do not accept "volume of documents" as a valid excuse for violating federal law. Please let me know how you intend to hold the DOJ accountable for this failure.
