Opposed to policy endangering trans youth

Your recently proposed model policy strips trans youth in VA of any sense of safety at school. Transgender kids are among the most vulnerable to bullying and at the highest risk for suicide. Your policy will increase the risk of both. Your policy demonstrates a complete lack of awareness of the real issues surrounding trans youth in schools. Your policy shows that your priority is to protect the first amendment right of teachers in lieu of the lives of students. I urge you and the Dept of Ed to consult with some advocacy groups to arrive at a compromise that allows for VA schools to remain safe and encouraging to all students, not just the majority.
