An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Ariz. only)

Vote NO on SCR1044, making Arizona Supreme Court justices lifelong appointment

6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I am opposed to SCR1044, making Arizona State Supreme Court Justices a lifelong appointment "during good behavior". In other words as long as the legislature approves of the judge. The judge can not be removed unless the legislature doesn't like their actions, making the justice a lifetime appointment. The Arizona legislature is working diligently to overturn the will of the people. My own representative does not want Arizona State citizens to have the right to remove state supreme court justices! We can already see in the United States Supreme Court the rogue behavior of Judges who know that they cannot be removed except by extraordinary means. While simultaneously taking bribes. Because they know they are untouchable. The Arizona Constitution currently gives citizens the right to remove judges who act against the better judgment of citizens. For decades the Arizona Legislature has worked diligently to remove citizens rights to express our will on the ballots. This must stop. Vote no on SCR1044.
