Support Impeachment of HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

I am writing to urge you to support the impeachment of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Representative Haley Stevens of Michigan has introduced articles of impeachment this week, and this action deserves serious consideration based on the documented harm Kennedy's tenure has caused. During his 10 months leading HHS, Kennedy has directly undermined public health and medical research in ways that have cost American lives. Michigan residents have reported that their children's clinical cancer research trials were stopped because of Kennedy's actions. This is not abstract policy disagreement but a concrete public health and safety crisis affecting families who depend on these potentially lifesaving treatments. Kennedy appears to have violated the trust placed in him during his confirmation hearing. He told senators he would not undermine the nation's vaccine development, approval, and regulatory systems, yet pro-science advocacy groups document that he has done exactly that with serious consequences. Michigan now has one of the highest rates of measles cases in the country, a direct result of the conspiracy theories Kennedy has promoted and the weakening of vaccine confidence under his leadership. The Stand Up For Science coalition, formed to defend America's scientific community, has been calling for Kennedy's removal based on these documented failures. Their concerns are not partisan but grounded in the reality that Kennedy's actions have increased healthcare costs, jeopardized public health infrastructure, and cut important medical research programs at a time when American families need these resources most. I understand the political challenges of advancing impeachment in the current House, but accountability matters. Kennedy's tenure has demonstrated that he is unfit to lead HHS and continues to pose a threat to public health.
