I am an American overwhelmed with anxiety about the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.” I am pleading with you to fully consider the long-term damage it will cause. This should not be about party loyalty, this should be about protecting people. Yet we’re facing an all-or-nothing bill over 1,000 pages long, packed with provisions that hurt the most vulnerable.
Despite claims that Medicaid and Medicare “won’t be touched,” the bill clearly includes cuts that will leave millions, including my elderly father, at risk. If he loses care, I won’t be able to afford to support him. This is personal, and devastating.
Other critical reasons to vote no:
1 Deep cuts to healthcare and social services—while the wealthy receive enormous tax breaks.
2 A massive increase in the national deficit—adding trillions in historically reckless debt.
3 Erosion of judicial authority—dangerous under an administration that frequently ignores court rulings.
4 Environmental destruction—opening public lands to sale and drilling, ignoring long-term planetary health.
I’ve watched this year unfold with heartbreak. Politicians across the board ask for donations to “fight” while people like my father are fighting just to live. I’m tired of being asked for political donations. Why must we fund lawsuits and infighting instead of helping people?
Living in Los Angeles has been eye-opening. The narrative about our city in the media—especially from some politicians—is filled with lies. When Kristi Noem spoke about us, I cried. The disinformation is terrifying. My visiting family from Texas saw no chaos, no violence—just people living their lives. It makes me wonder how many other places are being misrepresented. What is real anymore? It’s tearing apart our foundation of reality as humans. We will break.
Please, be the way forward for all Americans. Please protect us. My fear is that all Republicans will be bullied into voting yes. But wouldn’t it be far better to be remembered for standing up and saving our future?
Please vote NO on the Big Beautiful Bill.
