Congress must stop “Gestapo-like” ICE

ICE agents are out of control. It’s up to Congress to stop the nightmare of intimidation, since the Administration only encourages ICE’s unconstitutional and cruel tactics. We’ve heard about ICE detaining people without due process. We’ve seen the unmarked vehicles they use, and how they pull away without giving any information to loved ones left behind. We’ve seen the cowardly masks they wear. Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) asked officers, “Why are you wearing a mask?” One replied, “Because it's cold.” It’s disturbing to see ICE agents who are dishonest, intimidating, and glib all at once. They think they have a license to be cruel. Today in Los Angeles, an ICE transport driver ran down a protester. The driver then backed up only to pull around the fallen protester and drive off. I’d say that’s a case of illegal hit-and-run—and a cruel abuse of government power. Enough is enough. Stand up to the President. Fight the budget bill with its increases for ICE. Lead us in protest of what Congressman Goldman aptly called “Gestapo-like behavior.” Make it stop.
