Stop The Trump Tariffs or Americans Will Pay The Price

Regular Americans are paying for President Trump’s import tax hikes with higher prices on things we need to buy. We’ll pay more at the pump and more at the grocery store, more for everything from clothes to shoes to fridges to water heaters to laptops to cellphones to oil to cars to homes. One study suggested the average American will pay $2300 more a year for the exact same goods thanks to Trump. Trump has forced on us the highest import tax rates since the Great Depression. The retaliation from our trading partners is costing us jobs, and past tariffs under both Trump and Biden suggest they will not bring more jobs home to replace them. The stock markets are stumbling, and taking our retirement savings with them. And at this point, Trump’s indecisiveness is also taking a toll, with the endless series of threats and deadlines and chickening out making it difficult for businesses, consumers and employees to make decisions.  Congress must step in. The House and Senate gave the president unilateral authority to impose tariffs, and they can revoke it or put guardrails on its use. We have multiple proposals to do just that you should be supporting. I am calling on you to take action to stop this economic wrecking ball from swinging at our country or to accept responsibility for the spiking costs and lost jobs we will have to deal with.
