Cease-fire in Gaza now

I urge you to support HR 786, Calling for an immediate deescalation and cease-fire in Israel and occupied Palestine. 1000s of innocent of lives have already been lost in the most horrible ways imaginable, and the crisis grows by the hour. Although Hamas’s attacks on civilians on Oct 7 was horrific, the collective punishment of 1000s of civilians — including children who can not by any stretch of the imagination be culpable for the actions of Hamas — is also horrific, and is in fact a war crime. The United States has enormous influence on the Israeli government and I urge you to use this influence to protect innocent lives and support humanitarian aid. Thank you.
