Congress must open a full investigation into Donald Trump’s hidden records. We are talking about more than just the Epstein files. His tax returns, transcripts of meetings with Vladimir Putin, and White House visitor logs have all been kept from public view. These are not trivial documents. They are critical records that could reveal conflicts of interest, foreign influence, and abuse of power. If there is nothing to hide, then there should be nothing to fear from making them public.
Transparency is a core requirement of democracy. Former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner has warned that secrecy at this scale is “a red flag for corruption.” No president in modern history has gone to greater lengths to conceal basic public records. These actions undermine trust in government, invite foreign interference, and damage America’s standing around the world. We cannot demand law and order while allowing the most powerful officeholder to operate in the shadows.
The American people deserve answers. We demand law and order, and we demand truth. Congress must subpoena these records, hold public hearings, and ensure every lead is pursued. Decency in public office is not optional. It is the bare minimum. If Congress fails to act, it sends a dangerous message: that the presidency is above scrutiny and beyond the reach of justice.
