We the people are calling BS.
We see an administration filled with incompetence. With corruption. An administration that in lieu of doing the hard work of governing, resorts to bullying, intimidation, and is slowly building an authoritarian apparatus because they are not willing to abide by the laws of our country. Their hubris makes them believe that they, and only they, know best.
Expediency in the effort to please their leader has led to chaos. To disruption. To disaster. Quotas have led to unlawful deportations. Led to citizens and legal residents alike being snatched. Detained. Deported. And who really knows what else?
Now we are revisiting the separation of children, toddlers and even babies, from their parents. Parents who have been deported, held in detention, or sent to prison based solely on assurances and social media posts from the government that they deserve what they get. With no evidence presented to either themselves or the lawyers attempting to represent them in this legal limbo they have been forced into.
We have a system of laws in this country. But this is being ignored and subverted so the president can tout how tough he is. But he is not tough. And neither are the enablers around him. He and they are the opposite of tough. They are heartless bastards. Or worse, spineless bastards.
You cannot claim to care about children while at the same time ripping them from their parents, while taking away resources that help them develop into good citizens, literally taking food out of their mouths in order to provide tax cuts for those who never ever have to worry where their next meal is coming from.
Do you enjoy the headlines showing grieving parents who may not even know where their children are? Do you even notice the protests across the world by people who are outraged at what America has become? Do you not notice that the Trump administration is single-handedly helping defeat the very authoritarianism he is hoping to see in America? Does that not indicate that he has chosen the wrong path?
Do you not realize what a disaster you’ve become a part of? A disaster that you made possible? That you made possible by making the wrong decisions for America? That you made possible by abdicating the power that could have stopped everything we’re seeing happen to the country?
But least we have the Trump military birthday parade that’s costing us millions of dollars to massage a small man’s ego to look forward to. Has he designed matching uniforms for you all to wear?
