I am writing to urge you to take a stand against the Executive Order titled "Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schools." This order is a blatant attempt to rewrite history, push anti-trans misinformation, and further the President’s pattern of using executive authority to attack American citizens rather than serve them.
Education should be about truth and critical thinking, not political censorship. This order attempts to sanitize history, omitting uncomfortable but essential truths about systemic injustice, oppression, and the struggles that have shaped our country. Ignoring history is not education—it is propaganda. Students deserve an honest and comprehensive understanding of our past so they can build a better future.
Beyond its historical whitewashing, this order also promotes dangerous anti-trans rhetoric, denying the existence and dignity of transgender youth. The misinformation and fearmongering surrounding trans issues in schools have already led to increased bullying, mental health crises, and legislative attacks on LGBTQ+ rights. No child should have their identity debated or erased by government decree.
This executive order is yet another example of the President overstepping his authority to push a harmful agenda. Time and again, he has used executive orders as a weapon against marginalized communities rather than a tool for governance. Congress must act as a check on this abuse of power. I urge you to speak out, challenge this order, and fight for policies that protect all students—regardless of race, gender, or identity.
Please let me know what actions you plan to take in response to this concerning executive order. I appreciate your time and your commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of all Americans.
