An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Do Not Cut Federal Funding for SNAP

5 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

Pushing financial responsibility for SNAP onto the states increases the likelihood that some states will cut the benefits, thus increasing food insecurity in American households. The obsession with ensuring the "unworthy" don't benefit from a social program entirely misses the point of having social programs. As a society with the means to ensure no children suffer from hunger, it is a betrayal of western civilization to allow those children to starve. Please don't cut the federal funding for SNAP.
