School Vouchers Are a Handout for Donors, a Sellout of Texas Kids — Don’t Sign
5 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!
You did not listen to the people.
You listened to the donors.
If this voucher scheme had truly been about parents and students, you would have put it to a vote—but you didn’t.
Because you know it would have failed.
Instead, you pushed through a program that:
• Caps access to only about 1.6% of Texas students.
• Forces families into a lottery system, fighting for a slim chance at funding while you strip resources from public schools.
• Allows 20% of the vouchers to go to families earning over $160,000 a year—while starving the public schools that serve the other 98%.
• Redirects public funds to private institutions with less transparency, less accountability, and no obligation to serve all children.
Make no mistake: this is a direct attack on public education.
It will hurt rural schools, hurt small towns, and hurt the majority of Texas students.
All so a handful of wealthy families and private businesses could cash in.
You could have trusted the people.
Instead, you sold them out.
We see it.
We will remember it.
And we will organize against it.
Do the right thing:
Protect public education.
Put the PEOPLE before the PAYOUTS.
