Strip Section 219 from the 2027 National Defense Authorization Act. This provision would embed Israeli defense firms directly into the Pentagon — bypassing the annual congressional oversight that exists for exactly this reason. The Quincy Institute has warned it would make the U.S.-Israel military relationship less transparent and harder to unwind than our ties with any NATO ally. That is not a partnership. That is a trap.
Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi grew up in West Seattle. In September 2024, Israeli soldiers shot and killed her while she observed a protest against illegal settlements in the West Bank. She was one of at least 14 U.S. citizens killed by Israeli forces since 2003 — none of whom have seen any accountability. Israeli forces have now killed over 73,000 Palestinians in Gaza, a campaign that Amnesty International and UN investigators have classified as genocide. Only 16 percent of Americans support providing military aid to Israel without restrictions.
The Senate still has the chance to remove Section 219 before the final bill is reconciled. Do not let this provision become law. Deepening military integration with Israel right now — without accountability, without oversight, without justice for American citizens already killed — is indefensible.
