Reopen the government NOW

Re-open the government — now. Every hour this government remains shut down, real Americans are paying the price. Not in “political points,” not in cable-TV chatter, not in empty talking points — but with dinner plates, medical bills, and rent payments. Hungry children are not theoretical. Seniors rationing food is not theoretical. Families skipping needed doctor visits because they cannot afford the copays is not theoretical. USDA says more than 44 million people in this country rely on SNAP — including children, seniors, disabled Americans, and active-duty military families.¹ CMS data continues to show that medical debt remains the #1 driver of personal bankruptcy in the United States.² This is not the American Dream. The American Dream — the one we teach our children — only works if we take care of each other, if we protect the vulnerable, if we believe that every life in this country has inherent worth. A functional government is not an optional luxury. It is a non-negotiable foundation. So: • Reopen the government. • Fund SNAP fully. • Ensure Americans can go to the doctor without going bankrupt. • Put federal workers back on the job. • Stop the chaos. Stop the stalling. Stop the posturing. The American people are not props in anyone’s political show. We need leadership — not threats. We need governance — not media spectacle. We need solutions — not sabotage. This is a plea. This is a demand. This is what you were hired to do. Fight for us. Not against us. — A citizen who loves this country enough to expect better
