An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures

Oppose Project 2025 and the Erosion of Democratic Institutions

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I’m writing to express serious concern about Project 2025—an organized and well-funded initiative to consolidate executive power, dismantle civil service protections, and impose a radical, authoritarian agenda on our federal government. This project poses an existential threat to democracy, judicial independence, the rule of law, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental protections, and more. While it may be framed as a “transition plan,” the goals are clear: weaken checks and balances and replace policy expertise with ideological loyalty. I urge you to: Publicly denounce Project 2025 and any similar efforts to erode democratic institutions. Support legislation to protect the independence of the federal workforce and judiciary. Uphold and expand civil rights protections—particularly for vulnerable and marginalized communities. Use your platform to educate your constituents and mobilize against this threat. This is not politics as usual. This is a coordinated blueprint for authoritarianism. I expect you to lead with courage and clarity in the face of it.
