Resistbot Petition: Demand accountability for Palestinian detainee abuse in Israel

An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Demand accountability for Palestinian detainee abuse in Israel

12 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

I want to express concern over the deeply disturbing reports from whistleblowers detailing abuse and mistreatment of Palestinian detainees at Israel's Sde Teiman detention facility. The accounts of blindfolded detainees strapped down, held in diapers, beaten, denied medical care, and stripped of basic human dignity are appalling violations of human rights and international laws. This mistreatment, described as physical and psychological torture by doctors, must be fully investigated and those responsible held accountable. Israel's unlawful combatant policies enabling such abuses contravene the principles of human rights and the rules of armed conflict. I urge an immediate overhaul of the system to uphold detainee rights and humane treatment in accordance with international standards. The continued denigration of human life and suffering imposed by Israel's occupation cannot be justified under any circumstances.
