Congress Must Reduce Access to Assault Weapons and Expand Mental Health Programs

After the mass shooting at Brown University it seems a good time to mention under Bill Clinton's assault weapons ban mass shooting deaths were reduced by 43%. Once Republicans let it expire those deaths skyrocketed by 239%. The guns are the problem. And if your response is "it's a mental health crisis," may I remind you Republicans overwhelmingly voted against expanding mental health programs in schools. Congress must act to reduce access to this type of weapon, and to expand mental health care for students.
