Invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 doesn’t make America great--STOP it

The United States is now repeating its own horrific history of WWII when we sent Japanese Americans to Internment Camps using the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. This is deplorable and despicable. A Venezuelan man, Mervin Yamarte, was just sent to a gulag-type prison in El Salvador that is notorious for human rights abuses under this act because he had a tattoo that says “strong like my mother.” Are you kidding me? Are you actually serious? You’re going to sit idle while the man elected to run this country and “make [it] great again” is implementing a horrific act that allowed Japanese Americans to be imprisoned during WWII on American soil where atrocities occurred. This is not what this great nation was founded on. This is not making us great. This is making us an embarrassment and an unsafe environment for the very people that actually do make this country great—immigrants. We are a nation of immigrants. Unless you are 100% Native American, you are an immigrant. That is what makes the USA an amazing place to live and grow up. Today, the US is not great. And we are not on our way to becoming great any time soon. This administration is causing great harm to your constituents and great embarrassment for this nation on a global stage. Use your power to do something GOOD for your constituents. History will not be kind to you if you continue to sit idly by while our democracy is chipped away one unconstitutional action at a time by this administration. Please listen to your constituents and do your job—you answer to us…not POTUS.
