US Citizen from Idaho Detained in Egypt Without Charges
21 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!
A very dear friend of ours - Adam Shield of the Feather Ramirez of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes at Fort Hall Reservation in Idaho - has been taken into custody after entering Egypt.
He has been held since October 2, 2021 days without charges.
Adam is a conservation leader and is a deeply honorable man who has done a great deal of philanthropy and raising funds for community and Indigenous led conservation locally and globally.
It would seem he has been moved from one holding facility to another without any explanation, and although his group has paid court fees for his release and the US Embassy has been involved, nothing has been advanced to ensure his safe passage or release.
Adam has retained local and international counsel in which to navigate this situation on his behalf, and an internationally recognized community of dedicated members to speak and act on his behalf. As a member of this community, I ask that you support Adam Joe Ramirez in being released from detainment and ask that you and the State Department contact the US Embassy in Egypt to work with the appropriate officials to ensure his release and safe passage immediately.
Both Idaho State Senators Rasch and Crapo have been made aware and have been provided further details.
Thank you.
