Terminally ill patients deserve the right to die on their own terms.

We as individuals are best-placed to make our own decisions as they relate to our bodies. And, that includes the right to die with dignity for those facing a terminal illness. No one should have to suffer a long and agonizing death as a result of a disease. Each individual facing a terminal illness deserves the right to decide for themselves how and when their life should come to an end. Making them suffer—more than they already are–is inhumane. I encourage you to pass legislation that gives a terminally ill patient the ability to take control over their own passing and in doing so, ensure that when they face death, they do so on their own terms and in their own time.
