Protect our elections!
Ellen Weintraub, chair of the Federal Election Commission, announced on February 6, 2025 that President Trump sent her a letter declaring her immediate removal.
Weintraub rejected the action, stating it was not legally valid.
Appointed in 2002, Weintraub has been a vocal advocate for stronger campaign finance enforcement, transparency, and combating foreign election influence.
Since taking office last month, Trump has embarked on a massive government makeover, firing and sidelining hundreds of civil servants and top officials at agencies in his first steps toward downsizing the bureaucracy and installing more loyalists. We must continue to protect those in critical positions in our government.
While there are legal ways to remove a FEC member, a simple letter from the President isn’t it. Please protect the FEC.
