Support Protecting Presidential Memorials Act. Save Kennedy Center, block Arch

Please declare your support for the Bipartisan Protecting Presidential Memorials Act of Chellie Pingree and Jeff Merkley. Pingree explains that this act "establishes a simple safeguard: if Congress created the designation, only an act of Congress can authorize its demolition. These monuments don't belong to whoever's sitting in the Oval Office. They belong to the American people." Presidents are tenants in the White House and should not be reshaping DC or destroying monuments that belong to the nation. I am aghast that Trump was permitted to demolish the East Wing, wreck the Reflecting Pool, and put his name on the Kennedy Center. Congress needs to step up. Please declare your support for this bill, sign on as a co-sponsor, and vote for it. I also ask you to join colleagues to file lawsuits to protect the Kennedy Center and halt the ballroom and triumphal arch.
