He's our tenant. They're not his buildings; he does not own the monuments. Our public buildings are a shared heritage: they belong to us, the people, not to Trump's real estate empire. Melanie Stansbury's bill: *the Federal Facilities Protection and Oversight Act* We need to protect our historic federal buildings and ensure no president can demolish or remake them on a whim. This bill should not even be necessary: Trump's modifications to both the White House and the Kennedy Center are illegal. He swore to see the laws faithfully executed and then flouts the laws, the constitution, and the courts at every turn. If you had been told that a U.S. president would one day demolish the East Wing of the White House without permission and would later put his name on the Kennedy Center, what would you have said? Have we all lost the capacity to be shocked? In addition to declaring your support for Rep Stansbury's bill I ask you to add Trump's changes to the White House and Kennedy Center as impeachable high crimes and misdemeanours and vote for impeachment in the house and removal in the senate as soon as the occasion for that arises. I am counting on all elected representatives to refuse to normalise an aspiring dictator's abuses.
